Release and availability in one view
The release status page owns the full date check. Nice Ride and Playsaurus announced September 8, 2026 as the planned version 1.0 date. The official Steam page still said Coming soon on August 28, so the release gate remained closed in this research snapshot.
The Demo has a different availability state. The official retirement notice says new downloads ended, but existing installs may be played indefinitely. For the complete boundary between those builds, use the Demo and full-game comparison.
| Question | Verified answer | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Is the date announced? | Yes, September 8, 2026 was planned | A planned date is not a live-state check |
| Can a new player download the Demo? | No | Existing installs are treated separately |
| Does the old save work? | The developer says it is compatible | Backups are still prudent |
| Is a special transfer required? | No | Confirm the active save before troubleshooting |
| Does uninstall erase the Demo save? | The notice says the save survives uninstall | Platform and manual-file actions still matter |
Saves, Steam Cloud, and Windows files
The developer identified %APPDATA%/OrcIncremental as the Windows save path. Steam Cloud is listed on the official Steam store. Those facts do not prove that every local and cloud copy is synchronized at a particular moment.
Before a save test:
- Close the game normally.
- Record the platform and build label.
- Copy the save folder to a separate safe location.
- Check which Steam account and device were last active.
- Change one thing, then verify which progress appears.
The staged save location guide and Steam Cloud checks will hold platform-specific procedures. Do not edit or delete a save merely to test a theory.
Systems and announced version 1.0 scope
The official store describes drafting units and Totems, formation, automatic combat, tactical spells, Dark Rebirth, permanent bonuses, Chieftain choices, offline gold, and boss milestones. The release announcement adds four named allied units, nine Chieftain bloodlines, more than 250 Blight Tree nodes, five new Totems, three named enemies, and three new legendary bosses.
The published names are Assassin, Troll, Warg Raider, Juggernaut, Cryomancer, Paladin, and Griffon. The Chieftain bloodline names, the five new Totem names, and the three legendary boss names were not published in the checked announcement. The progression guide keeps announced systems apart from historical Demo unlocks.
Trials, Missions, and historical thresholds
Historical Demo update v0.09 said Missions and Trials unlocked at the Accursed Elf stage and described changes to Trials, Totem stacking, Blight, and Rage. Demo update v0.05 documented a Warpath condition. These are useful historical records, not verified version 1.0 thresholds.
If a current build displays a different condition, record the build and use the staged Trials reference or Missions reference once published. Do not force a current observation to fit an old patch note.
What Not verified yet means
Not verified yet covers missing exact formulas, rates, caps, rankings, thresholds, names, and current behavior. It does not mean the feature is absent. For example, offline gold is official, while the rate and cap are unpublished. The Blight Tree size is announced, while node names and costs are unpublished.
The known issues tracker uses the same rule. An old Demo fix is not labeled as a current defect, and a current symptom is not called a confirmed issue without present evidence.
Official sourceFrequently asked questions
- What is the planned Orc Incremental release date?
- Nice Ride and Playsaurus announced September 8, 2026 as the planned version 1.0 date. On August 28, 2026, the official Steam store still showed Coming soon, so this wiki does not label the full release live.
- Is version 1.0 live now?
- Not in the checked snapshot. The release gate was evaluated on August 28, 2026, and the official Steam store remained in Coming soon state. The site must be rechecked against an official source before that label changes.
- Can I download the Demo now?
- No. New Demo downloads were retired. Existing installations can continue to be played indefinitely according to the official Demo retirement announcement.
- Will my Demo save work in the full game?
- The official announcement says the old save is compatible with the full game and needs no special transfer. It also says the save remains after uninstalling the Demo.
- Where is the Windows save folder?
- The developer identified %APPDATA%/OrcIncremental as the Windows save location. Back up the folder before manual troubleshooting, and avoid editing files unless you understand the risk.
- Does Orc Incremental support Steam Cloud?
- Yes. Steam Cloud is listed on the official Steam store. That verifies platform support, not the timing of every sync, so keep a manual copy before diagnosing a disputed save.
- What do the evidence labels mean?
- 1.0 Confirmed marks an official announcement about the planned full release. Historical marks older Demo context. Not verified yet marks a question the checked sources do not answer. None of those labels substitutes for a live build check.
- Are exact formulas and rankings published?
- Not for the claims covered here. The checked official sources do not publish complete upgrade formulas, Blight calculations, offline rates, or universal unit rankings, so this wiki does not invent them.
- Which new allied units are confirmed for 1.0?
- Assassin, Troll, Warg Raider, and Juggernaut are announced. Their broad identities are stealth critical attacks, durability and reflection, area control with hook pulls, and explosive siege damage. Exact stats remain unpublished.
- What is confirmed about Chieftains and bloodlines?
- Version 1.0 is announced with nine Chieftain bloodlines. Chieftains join the battlefield, have a right-click signature action, and use a martyrdom action when sacrificed. Names and numerical effects remain unpublished.
- What is known about the Blight Tree and new Totems?
- The release announcement confirms a branching Blight Tree with more than 250 nodes and five new Totems. It does not publish the node list, Totem names, costs, or exact effects.
- Are new bosses and enemies confirmed?
- Yes. Cryomancer, Paladin, and Griffon are named as new enemies, and three new legendary bosses are announced. The checked announcement does not name those three bosses.
- What is known about Trials and Missions?
- The release announcement promises Trials improvements for 1.0. Historical Demo notes say Missions and Trials unlocked at the Accursed Elf stage, but that old checkpoint is not asserted as a current 1.0 threshold.
- Does the game earn anything while offline?
- The official Steam page says offline progression generates gold. The checked sources do not publish the rate, cap, eligible duration, or exact calculation.
- How does this wiki check for updates?
- Patch-sensitive pages record a last-checked date and cite registry-backed official sources. Release labels change only after the official store or an official announcement passes the release gate, not from an unsourced player claim.
